On Thursday, October 4, 2001, Billy
Collins, Poet Laureate, spoke at the Fremont High School Multi-Purpose Room as part of the
Writers Live at the Library series. This event was a great success, with
over 280 people attending!
Billy's poetry collections include The Art of Drowning;
Questions about Angels: Poems; Picnic, Lightning and Sailing Alone Around the Room, New
and Selected Poems. He is a professor of English at Lehman College of the City
University of New York. He lives in Somers, New York.
